Congestive heart failure can cause other disorders like swelling in legs (edema), swelling of liver, collection of fluid in lungs and distended neck veins. It is necessary to monitor the heart functions once you have an episode of heart failure. Whenever you observe sudden increase in weight, it may be indication of accumulation of extra fluid in lungs. Monitor what you eat and drink, especially if you are obese.
