Weight Loss Exercise And Diet

Weight Loss Exercise And Diet
Weight loss, exercise and diet go hand in hand. There are no 2 ways about it. If you need to successfully lose weight, you cannot expect to do so without a proper diet and exercise routine. Some people do try to lose weight through diet alone. Some others who have a penchant for eating do try to get weigh loss results only through the exercises. But though the results may be seen even if you follow only one method, yet the results of combining a diet and exercise routine together cannot be compared to the other exclusive methods.

What ever food you consume, is converted in to the calories. These calories are useful for various activities of the human body like physical activities, mental activities and also for the basic functions of the human body like, digestion, respiration, sleeping, pumping of the heart, excretion, locomotion etc. Obesity is nothing but excess of calories, which are stored away by the body, in the form of fat or lipid cells, in order to utilize in times of scarcity or non availability of food or calorie resources. This could be called as hoarding of calories by the body for further use.

Now by understanding this basic fact, we know that the body requires a certain amount of calories to complete all its day to day functions and activities. Any superfluous amount of calories are then stored away for future use in the form of fat cells. So the best way to avoid the formation of these fat cells or to avoid obesity is by the following 2 methods:

* Eat only as much calories as is required daily by your body, so that there is no extra calorie to be hoarded by the body

* Work out for a definite period of time, which will use up all the hoarded calories, so that there is nothing left to hoard up.

This will work in case you do not have excess fat hoarded up already by the body. But if you are already obese or over weight, then you would definitely need to combine the 2 activities mentioned above to get excellent results. So on one hand you will eat lesser calories than what your body needs, so that the reserve calories in the fat cells are used up. On the other hand you will also spend some time in exercising, in order to mobilize the calories in the fat cells, thus collectively causing a weight loss.
