Diabetes is one of the kidney diseases which can even lead to kidney failure. Most of the diabetes patients don't end up with kidney failure but if precautions are not taken properly then diabetes can be very dangerous. Diabetic patients can control this disease by several ways like quit smoking, drinking alcohol, controlled blood pressure and other factors which are responsible for diabetes. Some of the precautions which help in controlling diabetes are illustrated below:

2. Limited intake of insulin in regular diet.

In early stages of diabetes kidney stops functioning normally and it allows the essential proteins from our body to excrete through urine. With advancing stage in this disease kidney stops the function of waste removal from blood. In later stages kidney fails completely and the patient can only be treated by dialysis or by complete kidney transplant.



In medical terms there are five major steps in diabetes which leads to complete failure of kidney functions. There are basically two types of diabetes and mostly it takes more than 25 years for a patient to reach the fifth stage of diabetes where kidney transplant is the only solution. Type 1 of diabetes disease is having more chances of leading to the fifth stage where kidney fails.



More than 40% of the peoples having type 1 diabetes reach the final stage of kidney failure and patients with type 2 diseases more than 80% of the peoples reach the final stage. Diabetes takes a lot of time to reach the final stage and the only to prevent this disease is to control habits which encourage the diabetes disease. Following the prescriptions provided by the doctors can really help in reducing the risk involved in diabetes and other kidney related diseases.



There are no major symptoms of diabetes until it reaches it final stages. Some of the major symptoms which are related to diabetes are described below.

2. Fatigue.

5. Swelling.
