Fat Loss Diets

Fat Loss Diets
Many of today's people are concerned about their weight. For this reason, they pursue nutrition plans called fat loss diets. When deciding which plan to choose, they have to decide what the goal of the diet is. Is it to look better in your swimsuit, or is it for genuine health benefits? Often, a short-term weight loss diet doesn't have any lasting effects, since there is no long-term change that will allow for permanent weight loss and a leaner healthier body as a result.

The pros of a fat loss diet are a few that will benefit one's health. By losing some weight quickly, there will be less stress on joints and muscles and a possible benefit of lowered blood pressure and blood sugar. There is also the added psychological ego boost of looking better. Also, by being lighter, mobility improves. There is less fatigue at the end of the day. One other plus is that there is a conscious commitment to eat healthier foods with better, more natural ingredients.

The cons of fat loss diets are that, often, the desired results are short-termed. When on a fat loss diet, the first goal is simply to lose a few pounds. The problem is most people don't want to make the diet a permanent part of their life. When the desired amount of weight is lost, most people go back to their old eating habits. Sometimes, they actually gain back the weight lost. Frequently, they gain a few more. Without a commitment to a complete lifestyle modification, weight loss diets don't always work.

So, when considering fat loss diets, ask yourself the following questions. Do I only want to look good for the wedding? Am I willing to change my life to make it permanent? Am I willing to stick to it to achieve my short and long-term goals? In reality, most of us simply are never satisfied with our bodies as they are. Maybe we need to look inside ourselves to see what we are really looking for. Then once we have examined what we feel inside, then the outside will begin to take care of itself.

Fat Fast Diet

Fat Fast Diet
Dr. Atkins has come up with the fat fast diet. This diet is for individuals who have trouble metabolizing the foods they eat. If you are unable to lose weight without diet pills or other extreme measures you may find the fat fast diet is for you. This diet has been tested on numerous people and found to be effective.

In this diet you are looking at two things. You are looking at the amount of fat you consume in relation to the amount of carbohydrates. For example Dr. Atkins is well known for his no carb diet. In the no carb diet you are to eat very little carbs, including bread. Instead you are meant to eat more protein, fruits and vegetables, cutting out the effects of carbs.

Carbs have fat that is stored by your body rather than quickly broken down. So the no carb diet can also be called a fat fast diet. You are eliminating the bad fats from your dietary meals. In the long run you will find you lose weight. You can also focus primarily on the fats you consume in a fat fast diet.

There is one issue with this. Sometimes even if you count fat instead of carbs you will not lose weight. A lot of foods may be low in total fat, but high in carbs. In the fat fast diet you have to account for these discrepancies and choose menu items that could be low in both. For example eggs are a part of the fat fast diet. Eggs are low in most fat and definitely low in carbs.

Cheese is another example of where things can get complicated in a fat fast diet. Cheese has less than 1 percent of carbs. However, the wrong cheese can be very high in total fat. It is better for the fat fast diet to eat cheese and dairy products that are low in fat. There are a number of cheeses that fit this category. You just need to shop for them. Swiss is a good example of cheese to eat.
