You need to diet to gain weight while maintaining your health. There are good ways and bad ways to gain weight. When you consider a diet to gain weight you need to look at the amount of calories you consume in a day. You should consume more than average calories in your diet to gain weight.



The average diet is based on 2000 calories per day. For most people this is too much and they gain weight. If you are already eating 2000 calories per day you can consider upping that amount. You can also think about changing the foods you are eating as part of your meals and what exercise you do throughout the day.



You should never increase your intake of junk foods or greasy foods. You will certainly be in a diet to gain weight with those foods, but you will gain an unhealthy response. Greasy food can block your arteries and increase your cholesterol, causing high blood pressure. Instead if you want to diet to gain weight you need to concentrate on foods that are still healthy, but offer you a good amount of weight.



In your diet to gain weight consider healthy fats like omega-3, which is found in tuna, salmon, flax, and walnuts. You can also eat lean meats, other fish, poultry, nuts, seeds, and legumes. Healthy carbohydrates are another source of good ways to gain weight. Carbs are full of sugars and fats that you store. Fruits, vegetables, and whole grains should be on the menu. You might also find that eating five or six smaller meals helps you to balance your meals and gain the weight you seek rather than trying three meals a day.
