The rat race, threat of the pink slip, excessive cut – throat competition, emotional upheaval, and psychological turbulence, all cause immense stress.
  • Poor physical activity. Adequate exercise is a must to fight obesity, and prevent heart disorders occurrence.
  • Gross errors in the diet are the principal cause. Consuming too much of saturated fats, trans fats, animal foods, and processed foods are bad for the heart and the vascular system.
  • A genetic predisposition to cardiovascular diseases is a non-modifiable cause, as against the cause that are stated above. Thus, those who have a strong family history of heart attacks should be over cautious.
Be positive. Health and lifestyle experts say, the psyche plays a very important and pivotal role in determining the health of an individual. Increasing physical activity, doing yoga, and meditation have therapeutic and prophylactic benefit. Additionally, it is important to have a positive outlook towards life.

Several studies have shown that having a good level of self confidence and believing in god averts the occurrence of a heart attack. Research says, when we close our eyes, focus on god, and pray, the brain releases endorphins. The endorphins suffuse you with a feel – good feeling, keep your body and mind at peace, and build a positive attitude. A similar phenomenon is seen when you exercise and work out.

A regular and sustained practice of yoga and meditation, lowers blood pressure and heart rate, reduces anxiety, tames uncontrolled thoughts and negative emotions and helps you cope better with life’s situations.
