Laser therapy is useful in both circumstances; for treating retinal detachment or for preventing it. In laser therapy, laser is directed on the retina. The vessels are cauterized and the tiny holes are repaired. This reduces the chance of detachment.

Besides laser therapy, there are other modes of approach for treating lattice eye degeneration.

Cryotherapy: It is useful in certain cases where laser may be contraindicated. If there is excess of hemorrhage, administration of laser is not valuable. It helps to seal the area of lattice degeneration.

Sclera buckle approach may be useful when the retinal detachment is subclinical.
