Undescended Testes Causes | Cryptorchidism Disorder Causes

Undescended Testes Causes | Cryptorchidism Disorder Causes .

Causes of Cryptorchidism

Causes of un-descended testis or cryptorchidism are-

  • Abnormality of the gubernaculums testis (mesenchymal cells form a cord which extends from that part of the skin which later forms the scrotum)-gubernaculum plays a major role in descent of testis and abnormality of this structure may result in un-descended testis.
  • Intrinsic testicular defect- the testis may be insensitive to gonadotrophins and may not act to it. This may lead to un-descended testis.
  • Deficient gonadotrophic hormonal stimulation- lack of adequate maternal gonadotrophins may be a cause of incomplete descent.
  • Obstruction due to the adhesions of testis.
  • Short vas deferens.
  • Short testicular vessels or pampiniform plexus.
  • Imperfectly developed testis interferes with its own descent.
