What Causes Bleb Formation In The Eye?

Treatment For Bleb In Eye

It is best to prevent formation of bleb in eye in first place. If you are spending excess amount of time outdoors in sunlight, it is necessary to wear sunglasses. Also do not wipe your eyes with your hands. Your hands may not be clean. If you want to touch your eyes, wash your hands with soap and water. This will prevent allergens to enter the eyes. Use of air purifier in your home will prevent entry of allergens. Also avoid wearing lens when you have bleb in your eyes.

Most of the time, if the blisters on conjunctiva are due to allergens, they may resolve on their own within few days. Your ophthalmologist may prescribe some eye drops if the condition is severe. In most cases resolution is without any complications.

In few cases surgical drainage may be necessary, especially if the bleb does not resolve and causes irritation and there is risk of suffering from blebitis.

Conjunctivitis with bleb should be promptly treated with antibiotic eye drops.
