Diet for Indigestion Treatment, Prevention | Foods Good for Dyspepsia

Indigestion Diet:

  • When frequently experiencing indigestion, one should learn to watch the kind of foods eaten. It may be that the cause of indigestion is eating badly prepared foods, grilled foods, fried foods, junk foods, and other types of foods. As such, one has to be conscious as to what kind of food is likely to cause indigestion. This will enable the person to be in better control of his/her situation.

  • Another dietary consideration for indigestion is to cut down consumption of fatty and oily foods. Such foods make it difficult for the digestive tract to burn them, needing more digestive juices than necessary.

  • If a person is suffering from chronic indigestion, meals should be cut down into small servings so as to allow the stomach an easier time in digesting it.

  • The best type of foods to be eaten during bouts of indigestion is fresh fruits and vegetables, especially those that are rich in fiber.

  • However, make sure to avoid acidic fruits such as citrus because it may affect the stomach. It will also be well to avoid carbonated drinks as well as caffeine rich beverages like coffee.

  • In any case, a person with indigestion must stick to foods that contain liquid and refrain from eating solid foods.
