Healthy Tips For Healthy Teeth









We do lot of things in our day to day life. We do not even know the things which we are doing are incorrect until someone points out. For example we sometimes put the end of a pencil or pen in the mouth middle of writing something. One thing you have to know is these small things which we do can cause serious tooth diseases and may damage our teeth if neglected. Here are some of the healthy habits which you have to know for keeping your teeth and gums healthy.











Drinking coffee and Tea: do you have a habit of drinking coffee or tea several times a day? Then you have say good bye to that habit after knowing the effects of drinking coffee and tea.  In comparison tea is a bit better but coffee is acidic which turns your teeth to yellow. Drinking coffee lot leads to teeth discoloration. As coffee and tea are hot, it leads to damage of taste buds on your tongue. The sugar content in coffee and tea leads to accumulation of sugar on teeth and leads to oral cavity.



Tips:


1)      Do not drink more coffee and tea.


2)      If already the problem persists, use some home remedies to reduce oral cavity and teeth discoloration.




Eating chocolates:


Chocolates are very tasty. Eating them cannot be stopped by any one. But while eating them,they stick to the teeth and stay on them for long time. The sugar content in the chocolates makes holes on the enamel that is cavities resulting in teeth decay.



Tips:


1)    Eat chocolates which are not sticky.


2)      Do not eat lot of chocolates


3)      If u eat, wash your mouth immediately after eating.



Sports drink:


Having sports drink gives a great relief instantly but is it safe for our teeth? Sports drinks and juices have high sugar content in them. Drinking them will obviously leads to oral cavities.


Tips:


1)      Drink juices which are less in sugar content.


2)      After drinking wash your mouth with water.



Use flaws to clean your teeth:


Many people always use toothpicks to clean the teeth after eating something. But think over it once? Is it safe to use toothpicks? My answer is No.  Using toothpicks increases the gap between teeth. This results in increasing more gap between them further results in more bacteria accumulation.


Tips:


1)      stop using toothpicks


2)      If needed use flaws.



Eating fruits or drinking juices?


Many people believe they stay healthy by drinking juices. But up to how much extent is this true? But drinking juices is least good than eating fruits. The sugar content and acid content in juices are more which results in teeth decay.  So it is better to have fruits than juices.



Tips:


1)      Eat more fruits than juices


2)      If you prefer juices do not add sugar to them.


3)      Wash your mouth after drinking juices.



Red wine dangerous for teeth: many people prefer red wine believing it reduces the chances of heart attack and for healthy heart. But red wine contains a color giving component called chromozyne tannins which damage the enamel on the teeth. They lead to teeth discoloration.


Tips:


1)      Drinking alcohol damages the teeth. So avoid intake of alcohols


Cough syrup:


Cough syrup is a medicine but it has sugar content. The sugar content leads to tooth decay.



Tips:


1)      Directly pour the cough syrup in the throat


2)      Wash your mouth after taking it


Teeth are not openers:


Many people use their own teeth to open a bottle. And many tailors use their teeth to cut a thread. Some people use their teeth to open a shampoo packet. Your teeth are not scissors and openers. During these times, the enamel on your teeth gets damaged.


Tips:


1)      Use openers to open the cap of the bottle


2)      Do not use your teeth for opening a shampoo packet.


Eating chips:


Chips are crispy and tasty. Is it good to eat them? My answer is absolutely No.  they ruin our teeth. Chips contain starch and they damage your teeth and leads to oral cavities.



Tips:


1) Reduce intake of chips


2) After eating use flaws to clean your teeth.


Stop smoking:


Smoking cigarettes is injurious to health, which is a well known quotation. In spite of this it affects the teeth also. Bad breath is more effect of smoking cigarettes. Intake of Tobacco leads to many diseases. Smoking cigarettes also leads to oral, lips and tongue cancers.



Tips:


1)      Stop smoking cigarettes


Brush in a correct way:


Many people brush in an incorrect way. They do not know which way is correct. So follow correct steps in brushing.


Tips:


1) use soft bristled tooth brushes.


2) Brush your teeth in a way making circles with your brush.
