Peptic Ulcer Diet Treatment | Foods to Avoid Peptic Ulcer

Peptic Ulcer Diet Treatment | Foods to Avoid Peptic Ulcer

Diet for Peptic Ulcer:

  • Take only in moderate amounts beverages that are rich in caffeine such as coffee, tea, and soft drinks. In most cases, such drinks should be avoided totally because it may induce pain.

  • Regulate the intake of milk and cream rich foods. Although milk has an initial neutralizing effect on the stomach, too much of it can cause a stimulating effect on the stomach and can heighten the pain that a person may feel.

  • In order to avoid having a high concentration of acids in the body, make sure to eat three small meals and small snacks that are evenly spaced.

This will help avoid hunger episodes or overeating that induces the body to produce a higher level of acidic digestive juices.

  • Chew foods well. Chewing foods well will lessen the strain and load work on the stomach and will require higher levels of acidic digestive juices to burn.

  • Avoid eating at least three hours before going to bed. Bedtime meals cause gastric acid secretion during the night and cause an elevated acidic level in the stomach.

  • Choose foods that are low in fat. Foods that are rich in fats are more difficult to digest and require higher acid level to do so.

Low-fat foods, on the other hand, are easier to digest.
