Symptoms of Hair Loss | Signs of Androgenetic Alopecia, Scarring Alopecia

Hair Loss Symptoms:
Depending on what is causing the rapid hair loss you are experiencing, you can find that a lot of the following symptoms may or may not be present:

  • If hair loss is caused by fungus or by tinea capitis, you will first notice ringworm-like growths and itchiness of your scalp before the scabbing and the flaking occurs. As this happens, your hair will fall out due to the growth of these fungi their occupying the hair shafts on your head. Itching may be present with this problem.

  • Androgenetic alopecia often begins with the thinning of hair in the frontal hairline, which is then followed by the thinning of hair in the person’s crown area.

  • Scarring alopecia is usually accompanied by the presence of pus in the hair follicles. This is a non-reversible problem, and hair loss can only be minimized if the person is able to detect this problem early on for preventive measures to be enacted.

  • You can also tell that you are suffering from hair loss if you notice that your clothes, your comb or hairbrush, and your bathroom drain seems to be holding more fallen hair than is usual for you. This can be easily seen by people who easily notice that more strands seem to cling to the bristles of their hair brush or hair seems to be falling out of their head when they run their hand through their hair.
