Upper stomach pain makes someone quite uncomfortable and really feels bad. The cause and the exact origin of the pain must be established so that proper and appropriate treatment can be administered. Some time the pain may not necessarily be a stomach pain and needs to be looked into properly.



The upper stomach pain has many symptoms and many people associate it with common stomach ache which may not be right. The most common symptom is the dull pain. The body has many organs around the stomach especially the upper part of it. Whenever there is upper stomach pain which spreads to the sides of the stomach and accompanied by a pain in the back, most probably this is a problem in the pancreas. The upper stomach may have different sorts of pain. When there is right upper stomach pain extending to the right side of the chest and to the right shoulders which is accompanied by nausea and vomiting, this could be a sign of gallstones or there could be a problem with the gallbladder and can be a very bad diseases which wears you out. There could be a left upper stomach pain accompanied by nausea and vomiting. In case you are depressed you need to relax as this not a serious pain. It may be due to irritable bowel syndrome which is worsened by your stress. You may have an infection in the intestines. This does call for much worry you just need to consume more liquids and high fiber diet.



When there is a dull upper stomach pain which subsides after eat some food it could be an inflammation on the stomach by too much secretion of gastric juice on empty stomach. It could also be indigestion or some sort of heartburns.
