• Never touch the area on and around the piercing with dirty hands. Use antibacterial soap.


• Wash the pierced area with antibacterial soap.


• Avoid rubbing and irritation on the area.

• Use an antibacterial soap to wash the pierced area. Don’t let the soap stay on the area for long. Rinse thoroughly.


• Pat dry using disposable paper products.

Belly Button Piercing Healing Stages

There are 3 major stages in the healing process for navel piercing.

• During the first stage, the skin around the piercing will be swollen, itchy, and red. Sometimes, there could be a discharge which is yellow or white in color. A scab will form at the end of the stage.


• During the second stage, the scab will fall off and reveal new skin.


• At the third stage, the skin will look like normal skin and will be fully healed.
