Premature atrial contractions are a type of irregular and abnormal heart beats arising from atria. The heart is made up of four chambers two upper chambers are called atrium, and the two lower chambers are called ventricles.

When an ectopic beat arises from some abnormal focus in the atria prematurely than expected in the cardiac cycle it is termed as premature atrial contraction.

Treatment of PAC:

  • No specific treatment is required if the person does not give rise to symptoms.

  • A person with PAC can exercise safely.
