The best foods that you can consume and which are considered to be the healthiest are indisputably the fruits and the vegetables. You can definitely consume as many of these wonderful food stuffs as you want and yet stay healthy. And the variability in the tastes helps in using these food stuffs as snacks, salads, as a break fast option and even as drinks to cool down the heat and mitigate the thirst. Well, you can use these great food stuffs as a complete meal too. That is what makes these fruits and vegetables so well-loved and acceptable too, because they are so adaptable. The fruits and vegetables are Nature's blessings to man kind, because they are so full of nutrients and supplements, which keep the body functioning so well and keep us, fit and fine too.

The other foods are the whole grains. The whole grains are those grains which have not been put through any refining or polishing and usually have their healthy husk layer intact. The husk of the grains acts as fibre content and is extremely useful in the motility of the intestines and in having regular motions.

The next is of course the proteins. But there are animal and vegetable sources of protein too. So depending upon the dietary habits, you can either choose any one of these sources, or combine both of them. The dietary sources of protein are fish, meat, red meat has a type of high protein, but there is an increased tendency to cholesterol formation with the red meat. The eggs, milk, vegetables, beans, flax seeds, soya beans, fruits, cheese are all sources of protein.

The next is the use of healthy oils, both in salad dressings and for the cooking purposes. Olive oil is the best healthy option in oils. But sunflower oil and rice bran oil are all healthy options too. The healthy foods remain healthy only if you cook them correctly. So try to eat the fruits and vegetables raw and uncooked as much as you can. The foods are all best eaten steamed, boiled, and baked with the least amount of oil.
