Eat great lose weight- you heard it right. Have you ever realized that you do not need to starve in order to lose weight? You can definitely eat great food, while losing weight. Sounds too good to be true, is it not? Well, some facts are like this-too good to be true. So before you conjure up images of snacks, fries, ice creams and pizzas, a word of caution is necessary here. The phrase says, eat great lose weight. This means that you need to eat great food. But regardless of the fact that the above mentioned foods may sound great to you or to any one for that matter, they cannot be considered great by any standard of fitness or health.



So what you first need is a revamp of your thoughts. You need to reconsider the kind of foods which you consider great. The great foods are those that are not only healthy, but also contribute to maintenance of an optimum body weight when being consumed. So naturally the great foods will be one or many among the following list of foods:



* Fruits of all kinds like oranges, avocados, pineapples, apples, strawberries, blueberries, gooseberries, lemons, tangerines, pears, peaches, lychees, guavas, melons, cantaloupes, bananas, pomegranates, coconuts, cherries, plums and kiwis



* Vegetables like spinach, beet root, all leafy green vegetables, carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, ladies fingers, bitter gourds, beans, French beans, lima beans, green peas, capsicum, onions, broccoli, cauli flowers, cabbages, turnips, radish, yams etc.



* Nuts like walnuts, cashew nuts, almonds, peanuts, ground nuts etc



* Dried fruits like the raisins and the dates.



* Natural sugars like jaggery honey.



* Cooking oil- Olive oil, coconut oil, sun flower oil and rice bran oil.



* Poultry- eggs are wonderful, but avoid the inner yellow yolk, because they are high in fats and can contribute immensely to your blood cholesterol levels, so use only the whites of the eggs.



* Meat- avoid red meat, and stick to just the skinless and fatless chicken.



* Fish- Crabs, fishes like Tuna, Salmon etc are wonderful food stuff which are quite healthy and have lot of protein and iron too. Fishes are also a good source of zinc, and calcium too.



* Grains- use only whole grains and you may mix up different grains to get a mix grain cereal, oat meals, muesli etc



* Drinks like fruit juices, coconut water and green tea are all wonderful refreshments. The green tea has been proved to helping slimming too.
