Healthy Weight Female

Healthy Weight Female
When determining what the ideal weight is for a woman it might be a little difficult to do considering that every woman has a different stature. There are several factors took into consideration when determining a woman's ideal weight. True size representation of a woman is her weight.

The majority of women fall into an average height category of five feet three point eight inches, according to the National Centre for Health Statistics. The ideal weight for a female depends on her frame size.

To measure the size of your frame you can figure it out simply by placing your finger and thumb of your right hand around the wrist of your left arm. If your finger and thumb overlap then you are considered to have a small frame. If your finger and thumb touch then you have a medium frame, and if the finger and thumb do not touch at all you have a large frame.

Using the size of your frame determines what your ideal weight is from the chart below:

* Small framed women should weigh between 114 and 127 lbs.

* Medium framed women should weigh between 124 and 138 lbs.

* Large framed women should weigh between 134 and 151 lbs.

These sizes are for an average female whose height is five feet, four inches tall. Surprisingly, though, an average woman's height of five feet, four inches will weigh 162.9 lbs., and most doctors would consider this overweight.

There can be exceptions to every rule though and your body build will be a factor in finding your ideal weight, for instance, a five foot, four inch woman who has a muscular build and weighed 162.9 lbs may not be considered overweight. Her weight may be just a bit higher because of her muscular build.

There are a number of tables, charts to go by to determine your ideal weight some are like the one above, and there are some that will use your Body Mass Index (BMI). To determine your BMI you take your current weight and divide it by your height (in inches) squared (in other words multiplied by itself) take this sum and multiply it by 703. The result is your BMI and the BMI Chart is as follows:

* BMI of 18.5 and under is considered underweight

* BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 is considered normal

* BMI of 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight

* BMI of 30 to 39.9 is considered obese

* BMI of 40 and higher indicates morbid obesity.
