For some individuals, there is good cause to worry over a purple-colored pimple. Pimples are usually red or reddish in color. While it isn’t often that a purple-colored pimple is encountered, it does occur and it affects some individuals.

A greasy skin resulting from overproduction of oil or sebum together with craters that are already present on the skin serve as perfect breeding grounds for bacteria to remain which is also the very reason why this lesion can take so long to treat.
When this type of pimple or lesion is treated, follow up treatments are usually necessary to help remove scars that can remain on the skin.
Causes and Treatment for Purple Pimple
The causes of a purple-colored lesion are typically the same for any type of acne except for the presence of aggravating factors and the differences in genes for each individual.
Treatments are available for even the worst cases of purple-colored pimples such as:
Cleanse the skin regularly using mild soap.
Soaps that contain antibacterial properties can be used but in moderation only because over use of special soaps can dry the skin causing further irritation.
Avoid using several products on the face or pimple at the same time. Some products can contain ingredients which only aggravate the acne rather than treat it.
Use home remedies such as garlic juice. Garlic juice helps relieve pain, decrease inflammation, and fights off infection.
Tomato paste with glycerin when applied as a mask can help remove excess oil from the skin which is the problem in purple-colored pimples.
Eat a healthy diet with foods rich in vitamins and minerals which can help nourish the skin.
Exercise regularly to help remove toxins from the body through sweating.
Drink plenty of water to keep the skin hydrated and naturally moisturized.
