  • Nasal saline solution: Use of saline water is safe and best natural solution to treat sniffles. Saline water helps to relieve both stuffy nose as well as running nose. Simple saline solution can be prepared at home. Mix one teaspoon of salt in half liter of water. Boil the water until the salt dissolves completely. Cool the water and keep it in safe clean place. Now put one cup of water in a bottle with a dropper. Put two drops in each nostril. Salt present in saline solution helps to reduce the inflammation and soothes the tissue lining.
  • Tea: Drinking hot tea is soothing for nasal passages. It reduces sniffles since the blockage in nasal passage is reduced. The ideal is thyme tea and cayenne pepper tea. Boil a cup of water and add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Add two teaspoon of honey to it. Sip it slowly. After few minutes sniffles usually disappear. Thyme tea is another useful remedy for sniffles.
  • Steam inhalation: It is a useful alternative to alleviate symptoms of sniffles. Inhale steam when you are taking bath. You can also inhale steam from a pot of boiled water. Add few drops of eucalyptus oil to it. Inhaling the steam helps to soothe the nasal mucus passage and sniffles too.
