Nickel Allergic Reaction Treatment And Prevention

Physicians often diagnose nickel allergy just by observation and recent history of contact with any metals. Nickel allergy once developed remains for lifetime. The main aim is to treat the symptoms. The second most important criteria is to prevent further episodes of allergy. In conventional medicine, physicians prescribe steroid ointments and anti histamine drugs to alleviate itching and inflammation.

However, it is also possible to treat the symptoms with home remedies. Apply calamine lotion on the affected area. Calamine lotion is soothing and it relieves itching and irritation. Aloe vera gel will also reduce itching and irritation caused due to nickel allergy.

Applying wet compresses over the affected area will help to relieve itching and if blisters are formed it will help to dry them earlier. Soak a plain cloth in a bucket filled with one teaspoon of vinegar and three to four glasses of water. Place the wet cloth on the affected area. Keep it for 20 to 30 minutes. After few hours the intensity of itching and irritation will reduce considerably.
