Apple Cider Vinegar Fountain of Youth Tonic
For centuries, people have given the ol' apple cider vinegar drink a run for its money thanks to apple cider vinegar's widely known health benefits. Apple cider vinegar can aid in weight loss and also promote rosy, glowing skin when taken as a daily health tonic or applied to the skin.
How to Drink Apple Cider Vinegar
Earth Clinic knows a thing or two about how to drink apple cider vinegar. We've been experimenting with apple cider vinegar recipes since 1999!
ORIGINAL APPLE CIDER VINEGAR TONIC
1 teaspoon and up to 2 tablespoons unpasteurized apple cider vinegar
1 large glass of water (8-12 oz.)
1 tsp natural sweetener (optional)
This version of the tonic is mixed and ordinarily taken just before or along with meals, 1-3 times a day. When it comes to natural sweeteners, honey is probably ideal since it offers substantial health benefits of its own. Natural maple syrup likewise has many proponents, whereas refined sugar also offers sweetness but little if any other health benefit. Any natural sweetener, however, will do just fine. Alternatively, some prefer to forgo a separate sweetener and simply mix their Apple Cider Vinegar in with apple juice, apple cider, or another drink that blends well with the cider vinegar. The possibilities are endless, the point is just to get the stuff into your system and your dietary habits.
MODERN APPLE CIDER VINEGAR TONIC
2 teaspoons unpasteurized apple cider vinegar
16 ounces water
Mix together in a container and refrigerate, pouring yourself a glassful whenever you are thirsty. Ordinarily a couple of glasses a day will take care of your general health needs. This version is ideal for those who are particularly concerned about maintaining an alkalizing diet for overall health.
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR TONIC WITH BAKING SODA
1/8 teaspoon baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
1-2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
8-16 oz water
Add an eighth of a teaspoon of baking soda to either of the standard Apple CIder Vinegar tonics found above. Be careful! When you initially combine the vinegar and baking soda, a natural reaction will cause it to fizz up somewhat dramatically. Once the reaction settles, you can drink this version of the tonic as above for an additional alkalizing boost.
