Autoimmune Disease Dogs

Autoimmune Disease Dogs
Dogs are also living creatures. And God has gifted them with immune system, just like humans. The immune system of dog is totally composed of red blood cells, white blood cells, antibodies and blood platelets. It resists the body from falling prey to numerous dangerous diseases around. In other words, it guards the body of dogs and humans against invasion by foreign disease causing elements.

Every body part performs a different and vital role in the overall functioning of the living being. For example, liver and kidneys filter toxic wastes out of the body, lungs are responsible for respiratory procedures, and the list goes on. Immune diseases can be seen in the dogs when one or more components in the dog immune system fail to perform the functions, they are supposed to do. In such a condition, the antibodies present in the body fail to distinguish between the body's internal elements and the foreign disease causing elements. As a result, the external disease causing elements are not stopped by any resistive forces and they continue to infect the whole body.

There can be various causes for the autoimmune dog diseases. Lack of good and nutritious food is the main cause. Overuse of vaccines, drugs and antibodies is also a reason. The environmental pollution also adds to the list. The preservatives that are added into packed foods are also a major cause of causing dog diseases. If the dog is not fed with better food quality, the vital vitamins may not enter the body and this may lead to failure of the immune systems and making the body prone to autoimmune dog diseases.

The autoimmune dog diseases show multiple symptoms depending upon the type of disease and the extent of infection. The diagnostics become difficult because the character traits of diseases are not easily differentiable. If a dog is suspected to be suffering from autoimmune diseases, a proper examination should be carried out right away. Diarrhea with or without blood, weakness, skin lesions, stiff joints, loss of appetite are main symptoms of any kind of autoimmune dog disease.

Autoimmune dog diseases include Addision's disease, Canine systemic lupus, Allergies etc. All these diseases can prove lethal to the dog's health and in extreme conditions, may also lead to loss of life. But prevention is always better than cure. Making the surroundings of your dog clean and bathing him daily will surely help.
