Intestinal Worms Causes:
There are a few reasons why a person may be infested with intestinal worms, and most of these reasons revolve around hygienic practices and eating habits. Since most worms enter the body through our mouth, nose, and other body openings, it is then through certain actions that we get these worms.
- When a person eats food that is contaminated, he can get worms. Food that is poorly prepared or not prepared properly is susceptible to having worms in them. Usually, the worms get into the food when the handler or the person preparing the food is not sanitary or careful about sanitation.
- Not washing your hands frequently is also a possible cause for intestinal worms. Intestinal worms can enter through the mouth, the nose, and the eyes and if your hands have come in contact with objects that have these worm eggs or have touched objects that might have these microscopic worms, you might get infected if you touch your eyes, nose, or mouth.
- Sometimes some intestinal worms live in the food we eat when they are raw or when these were still alive. Salmon, pork, and beef can have these worms in them, and if these are not cooked properly or are eaten raw, the person can possibly ingest the worm and have an infection from them.
