How To Get Rid Of Nausea During Pregnancy

How To Get Rid Of Nausea During Pregnancy
Pregnancy is one of the most wonderful things that a woman can experience during her lifetime. Nothing beats that unusual glow that comes from the mood of an expectant mother. However, pregnancy has its downside too. Although a lot of pregnant women are basking in the glow of their pregnancy, there will be times when they experience unwanted side effects. And one of the most common downsides to pregnancy is that sick, nauseous feeling.

Nausea is one of those early symptoms of pregnancy. For the first three months, an expectant mother may experience headache, dizziness and vomiting. Nausea often attacks pregnant women during the morning that is why it is called morning sickness. Some women also experience nausea during night time. But no matter what time of the day nausea kicks in, it still can bring a great amount of discomfort. If you are one of those expectant mothers who are sick of being sick, here are some tips on how to get rid of nausea during pregnancy.

Check up with the doctor
Nausea is just a normal occurrence for pregnant women. Nevertheless, you should still schedule a check up with your doctor so that he can monitor your condition. Nausea usually starts when you wake up and it fades as the day goes by. If you think that you are experiencing far more than the simple nausea during pregnancy, call your doctor right away to ensure your well-being, and your baby’s health as well.

Medical prescriptions
As much as possible, if you are carrying a baby, you must refrain from in taking lots of unnatural chemicals, so medicinal treatments are not really suggested for nausea during pregnancy. Before you opt to self-medicate, you should ask your doctor first if it is safe for you to consume anti-nausea medications, and ask him about the best prescriptions as well.

Acupressure treatment
Acupressure is one effective treatment that can aid in lessening nausea during pregnancy. This method can help relieve you from the uneasiness that pregnancy side effects can bring. You can just go to a specialist and undergo a simple acupressure treatment. You can also ask someone to teach you about acupressure so you can just do it by yourself whenever you feel nauseous and uncomfortable due to pregnancy.

Proper food and drink intake
When you are feeling nauseous, you cannot just eat and drink like you normally would. You will have to cut back your consumption of solid foods that have strong flavor. You can’t just simply drink and consume water as well whenever you feel thirsty. What you can do is to divide your usual meals into six small meals throughout the day. You should also stick with crackers, biscuits, toast, soups and other comfort food. When it comes to drinks and beverage, instead of consuming one big glass of water in one go, drink small amounts of clear liquids every half an hour or so.

Proper exercise and rest
Just because the body is more delicate during pregnancy does not mean that you should skin exercising. In fact, pregnant women need to do light exercises to keep their health in good condition. But aside from simple exercises, you should not do heavy chores that can strain your body. So after a long day, you should relax and get a good night sleep.
