Why Wi-Fi is a Health Hazard

Why Wi-Fi is a Health Hazard

Health Dangers of Wi-Fi in Your Home

wi-fi a health hazard

Do you use wireless internet in your home?

Over the past 5 years, the use of wireless routers has significantly increased. The majority of homes with internet access, no longer use hard wired systems, instead they use wireless internet routers.

According to G. Blackwell, PhD, Chartered Engineer and advisor to WiredChild “Having a digital wireless device in your home, office, or school is like having a mini-base station (cell tower) indoors with you.”

Why?

  • Similar to cell phones, wireless routers emit high levels of electromagnetic radiation.  The radiation from wireless routers is particularly harmful because regardless of whether or not your devices communicating with the router are on or off, the router is often left on all day and night emitting high levels of radiation.

  • The level of electromagnetic radiation from wireless routers was found to be transmitted at the same frequency as microwaves.

What to Do

  • It would be best to not use wireless routers at all, instead use a hard wired system.

  • If you are going to continue using a wireless router in your home, turn it off and unplug it when not in use. Also, keep the wireless router as far as possible from your bedrooms, or any rooms you spend the majority of your time in. This way the signal is weaker and less radiation will be reaching you, the more space, objects, and walls between you and the router, the better.

Why the Controversy?

  • The concern of Wi-Fi causing negative health affects has been an area of debate by many. Skeptics believe that because the radiation is non-ionizing radiation and cannot break atomic bonds, that it is safe. Many who have been quoted stating that there is no risk, also don’t believe there is any harm from the use of cell phones.

  • However, the limited studies that have been done, have shown that Wi-Fi can result in subtle damage in human tissue and cell death.

  • One recent study  published in the journal Fertility and Sterility, found that men using wireless internet on laptops had a 25% reduction in sperm, the sperm also showed 9% DNA fragmentation.

  • There are also reports that 3% of the population is sensitive to the radiation produced from wireless routers. Symptoms may include brain fog, reduction in short term memory, headaches, and nausea.

  • Studies have also shown that due to the radiation emitted from Wi-Fi, it causes the blood-brain-barrier to leak.

Do you use a wireless router in your home? Do you think we should be concerned about this?
