Energy Bars Recipe
Energy bars, as the name suggests, is an immense source of quick energy needed by the body. Primarily it is the great source of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. These energy bars are mainly targeted to athletes and those fitness conscious people who want to maintain their calorific needs through these instant energy providers. Following are the yummy recipes satisfying your appetite for instant energy:-



Peanut Butter Bar (which requires no baking)



Ingredients: One cup of natural peanut butter along with one cup of honey and three cups of dry uncooked oatmeal.



Directions: Use a non-stick pan to mix and warm this mixture of peanut butter and honey until it has a runny texture. Now add the oatmeal into this and heat. Do not overcook the mixture; rather heat it so that it is easier to stir. Now pour the mixture into a pan of 9x9 inch dimension and let it cool. Wrap the equally cut 16 pieces of bar in a foil and store. Your natural energy bar is ready to eat.



Oat Bar



Ingredients: One cup of regular oats along with half a cup of sesame seed. Take 11/2 cups of raisins and finely chopped dried apricots. Take one cup of finely chopped blanched almonds and one cup of dry coconut along with half cup of non-fat milk. Take half cup of wheat germ (toasted), 3/4 cup of sugar, and two teaspoons of butter and one cup of light corn syrup. Take 1 1/4 cups of peanut butter (chunk style), one teaspoon of orange extract, and two teaspoon of grated orange peel. Take two cups of semi-sweet chocolate baking chips and four ounces of paraffin or butter.



Directions: Use a 10x15 inch baking pan to spread the oats and bake it in the oven at 300 degree for 25 minutes until they are toasted. Put sesame seed in 10x12 inch frying pan and bake it over medium heat. Shake frequently to avoid overheating. Then add sugar and corn syrup to it and heat it to a rolling texture. Quickly add the peanut butter along with orange extract and peel.



At once, add the oatmeal mixture. Stir well and quickly spread it in the buttered pan by pressing it firmly into a layer. Leave it to chill until the next day. Later cut it into 1 1/4x2 1/2 inches bars. Use a double boiler to melt the chocolate and paraffin. Dip each bar into this mixture and then place it on waxed paper. Wrap these bars when they become firm. Enjoy the feast.
