Fever is one of the most common ailments that a people can experience. It is shown by the symptoms of hot body temperature, dizziness, head ache, and body pain. When you experience fever, your daily tasks are great affected. If you have a job requirement to finish and fever attacks, chances are you will need to file a short leave from work. If you are a student, you will need to skip some classes. Basically, the routine is broken and things can go awry if you are having fever.


Fever can actually be an ailment of itself, or it can also be a symptom of a more serious health problem. While simple fever can easily be cured, if it was actually caused by an underlying disease, then a different intervention might be needed. Nevertheless, if you are having a fever and you just want to get back to your normal everyday life, here are some things you can do to get rid of fever.


Cold compress
When you are having a fever, you are most likely experiencing a very warm body temperature. To lessen this, you can try to use cold compress. Simply get a bag of ice and press it against your heat spots like your head, armpits. You can also buy those commercial fever patches that absorb the heat of your body while making you feel cool. This will make your body temperature go down. Also, cold compress can help relieve your headache temporarily. You can also suck on Popsicle sticks or eat ice cream and sherbets.



Exercise
If you are not bed-sick because of fever, you can try to do some exercises if your body can still take it. When you exercise, you sweat out those bacteria that may be causing your fever. Once the bacteria have been released from your body, you will be okay again.


So if your fever is not too bad that you cannot get up from the bed anymore, and then simply do some stretching, jogging in place, jumping jacks and some easy exercise routine that will make you sweat.


Drink lots of fluids
If you are too sick to remove those bacteria by sweating up, then you can just drink lots of fluids and flush out those toxins. Keeping your body supplied with water will help regulate your temperature. Drinks with electrolytes like sports drinks may also help in making your blood cells function.


However, take note that not all fluids are good in relieving fever. Avoid caffeine rich beverages and alcohol.


Drink some ginger tea
Ginger has a lot of antibacterial properties that may clean up your system. It is also good for giving you that comfortable feeling. Just make some natural ginger tea by boiling clean water and ginger together. To improve the taste, you can add raw honey which is another healthy food.


Get medications
There are some medicines for fever that you can buy over the counter. These medications will help relieve some fever symptoms such as headache and body pain. SO if you are having a fever, just ask a friend to get medications.


Go to the doctor
Fever might be common but it does not mean that it is not a serious ailment. If you are experiencing fever for more than 3 days, it is recommended that you go to the doctor and have a checkup. You will also be provided other medicines that will help in getting rid of fever.
