How To Get Rid Of Tanning Lotion Streaks

How To Get Rid Of Tanning Lotion Streaks
Are you one of those who want to achieve a perfect, glowing tanned skin? Did you indulge with the use of tanning lotions as well? There is nothing wrong with using a tanning lotion to enhance your beauty. As a matter of fact, it is a much safer alternative than to fry yourself up on a tanning bed. Tanning lotions are safe, affordable and easy to use. However, there are times that tanning lotions can backfire and instead of giving you a better skin complexion, it leaves unwanted streaks on your skin.

Tanning lotions are very prone to leaving tanning lotion streaks and discoloration on your skin. This is because when you apply tanning lotion, you do not really see the result right away so it is hard to tell if you are applying the lotion evenly. Failure to spread equal amount of tanning lotion all over your skin can lead to tanning lotion streaks that can make your skin appear unattractive. If you are facing this problem, do not worry just yet. Tanning lotion steaks are pretty easy to remove. Here are some things you can do to get rid of tanning lotion streaks.

Wash and exfoliate
If the tanning lotion streaks have not lingered for long, just fill your tub with warm water or get into the shower and wash up. Apply soap all over your body then scrub your skin using a loofah or sponge. This will help exfoliate your skin; removing the tanning lotion streaks along with dead skin cells, and making way for new ones to regenerate.

Baking soda paste
Tanning lotion steaks can be considered as skin stains and baking soda is one of the most effective removers of different kinds of stains. Simply mix baking soda and warm water and turn them into a paste. Using a cotton cloth, apply the baking soda paste on the uneven streaks. Rub it in circular motion until the tanning lotion streaks become less visible. Gently wash it afterwards.

Baking soda is safe to use on the exposed areas of the skin but avoid using it on delicate areas such as the face, neck and private parts.

Lemon juice
If you want a skin-friendly tanning lotion streak remover, then go for lemon juice. Freshly-squeezed lemon juice has all natural contents that can remove tanning lotion streaks and leave your skin nourished at the same time. Just extract lemon juice and add some ounces of water to it. Soak a cotton ball in this mixture then swipe it across the streaks.

If the streaks are everywhere, you can just cut the lemon into two and rub it directly against the streaks.

Rubbing alcohol
When you the streaks have just formed, you can simply use rubbing alcohol to remove it. Just get a cotton ball and dip it with rubbing alcohol then use it to remove the tanning lotion streaks. After the streaks have been removed, try applying lotion or moisturizing cream on the area because rubbing alcohol can dry the skin. Also, do not apply rubbing alcohol on delicate areas as well.

Tan removers
Some companies that produce tanning lotions are now offering tan removers that reverse the effect of the tanning lotions, including the unwanted streaks that they cause. You can just find a tan remove at the local health and beauty store then follow the directions on how to use it properly.
