Vitamins provide the nutrients that our body needs. This is especially true if you do not eat a balanced diet. In everyday life, as much as we wanted to eat everything our body needs, but it is quite hard and impossible to take them all by just eating. You may need extra supplements to provide you the minerals and vitamins that you may need. However, the question now is when is the best time of day to take vitamins?

  • Best time: The best time to take vitamins is when you can really take it regularly. This means, there is no exact period that may instruct you to drink the vitamins. The best time of the day is when you can develop it as habit or as part of your daily routine. When you identify the best hour, try to stick on it on a daily basis for you not to forget it.

  • With Food or Without Food: Some individuals will question if it is necessary to take vitamins with food or if it is better taken without food. If you will drink multivitamins and other high potency vitamins, it is better if you take it with food. Taking high potency vitamins without food may lead to upset stomach. Likewise, it may also lead to vitamin burps. You may take vitamins with small snack or with some milk to prevent stomach upset.

  • Twice daily: Some vitamins may have the required daily allowance in two dosages. Accordingly, there is no exact proof that spacing out the dose may increase the absorption. However, you may space taking the vitamins if you experience upset stomach.

  • Make it a habit: If you always forget taking your vitamins, then, it is best that you put the vitamin bottle near to an object that you would not forget every day. You may place the vitamins near your toothbrush or near the car keys or your wallet so it may remind you to take your vitamins. This will help you develop a healthy habit.
