Diet For Low Cholesterol

Diet For Low Cholesterol
Are you over 45 and afraid of a heart attack or stroke because your doctor just told you that you have go on a diet for low cholesterol? Many individuals who have a fairly good weight and are fairly active can have problems with cholesterol. The main reason is because with their busy lifestyles and after hour schedules on top of a full day's work, lunch and dinner are often fast foods of some sort. This is most definitely not a diet for low cholesterol. Just because that microwave cheese burger didn't come from a fast food chain does not mean there's not a lot of cholesterol in it. Believe the food labels posted on the box.

Face it. You need to get serious about this. Don't ignore what your body is telling you. Your early warning system is working just fine. Go on that diet for low cholesterol and be glad that you did. There is absolutely nothing fun or funny about a heart attack. Without addressing the way you eat with a diet for low cholesterol, your body is headed for over load and will quit on you.

A diet for low cholesterol doesn't have to be bland and tasteless. As a matter of fact, take a hint from the Mediterranean cultural foods. Olive oil is used instead of animal fat for frying or saut?ing foods. Many foods are fresh cooked vegetables with lemon juice and olive oil instead of butter. Does that sound exotic? That's because it is. This way of eating is one of the healthiest on earth. Check the statistics for yourself and see what cultures already eat a diet for low cholesterol and follow their example.

Remember that a lot of the Mediterranean is mountainous and hilly. This translates into walking up and down uneven surfaces and burning all those calories from pastas, whole grain breads, and whole grain flour. Their food is fantastic, and so is their exercise program.

Mediterranean people drink about two to three glasses of wine a day. Their blood, almost to a person that lives there, is some of the richest iron filled blood in the world. Very seldom do the Mediterranean people worry about heart attacks or clogged arteries. Their menu is naturally a diet for low cholesterol.
