Burns are a type of common injuries at homes which may occur doing any small household work such as ironing, using steam, pouring boiling water etc. Majority of the burns are due to mishaps in kitchen, while cooking or doing other stuff. However, in both first and second degree burn liver pain symptoms cases, home remedies for second degree burns are very useful, practical and their application is also very easy. It may be a steam or iron burn, sun burn or accidental drop of coffee in your finger, all can be treated right at your home, and that also with best results. However, third degree burns are very serious and should be immediately taken to the hospital for prompt medical treatment.


Before applying any type of home remedies for burns the first thing to determine properly is what type the burn is of. First degree burns are very easy to determine as they are very light and mild to see, with slight redness and very little swelling. Second degree burns are a little difficult as they pain more and the damage goes till the second layer of the skin. They have blisters, swelling, oozing and intense pain. Third degree is the most dangerous of burns and should not be tried to cure with home remedies. In these burns the outer skin is completely destroyed and looks black or brown. In some cases it may look white or cream colored as well. They may leave permanent lesions and there is no feeling of pain left. This is because the nerve endings in that area have been completely destroyed.


Before starting off with any home remedies for second degree burns, there are some preliminaries to be seen. If there is some jeweler or cloth on or around it, it should be removed. The foremost remedy for burns is cold water. Keeping the burn under running cold water takes away all the heat. Pay attention though that cold water does not mean ice or ice water. That will have the opposite effect.


After this the turn comes to apply something on the burn to sooth of pain and cure the skin. Diluted vinegar is known to have a pain killer like effect and is a good home remedy. It should be diluted with cold water. After the vinegar and water treatment applying fresh aloe gel (if available) is very good for the skin as it has tissue healing properties. Other than this home remedies for burns also include use of soaked tea bags, Lavender essential oil or egg whites. Egg whites especially are known to have miraculous healing properties. It relieves pain sensation and prevents any scarring of the skin as well. Onion juice and soy sauce also have good healing properties and ease pain. The most commonly known home remedy is use of toothpaste on the area. It really works but it should be seen that the toothpaste should not be a gel or liquid. It heals the pain and blistering before 24 hours. Grated potato and honey is also good for burns.
