Liquid Dietary Supplement

Liquid Dietary Supplement
Due to hectic lifestyles and dependence on processed foods, many people are falling short on their recommended daily dose of vitamins and minerals. There is no time to purchase fresh food items and cook a healthy meal. Fruits are absent in most diets and fresh vegetables are unheard of. Such a diet definitely needs to have dietary supplements to maintain good health. Also the increasing amount of pollution in the environment makes it necessary for the body to have increased amounts of anti-oxidants and vitamin C in the diet. All this can be had conveniently with daily intake of dietary supplements.

There is huge variety of dietary supplements available in the market ranging from exotic herbal products, to popular brands of health formulas. Also they are available in different forms like tablets, capsules, powders and liquids. There is always a raging debate about which form is better, whether it is liquid or a tablet.

A liquid dietary supplement is basically a necessity only for ill people who require increased energy levels or are suffering from malnutrition and depleted protein levels. Certain cancer patients and people suffering from diseases that make it for them to consume solid food are the ones really in need of liquid dietary supplement.

Generally speaking a liquid dietary supplement scores over a pill in the area of faster and better absorption. This is particularly true in relation to Glucosamine and MSM supplements. Studies have shown that a pill or tablet of Glucosamine supplement takes a long time to dissolve and the absorption is very poor. Whereas the liquid form starts getting absorbed as soon as it enters the stomach. Similarly there might be certain supplements that are absorbed faster and at a better rate when taken in a liquid form. Although this may be the case it is not correct to say that all pills and solid dietary supplements are slow in getting absorbed by the body.

In recent times there has also been a lot of hype about certain liquid dietary supplement which has been promising a lot of health benefits and has failed to deliver. The Federal Trade Commission has brought to the notice of the public that certain liquid dietary supplements do not even give the recommended daily intake of vitamins and minerals.

In conclusion we can say that a liquid dietary supplement is required only for certain people who are suffering from particular health conditions and also in cases of certain supplements which absorb faster in the liquid form.
